The 11th Fast Track Session Judge B.V. Gudli would pronounce the judgement in the BPO staffer Pratibha Srikantamurthy’s murder case on October 6.

On Monday, the Judge asked the Special Public Prosecutor V.K. Patil and defence counsel Shankarappa whether they had any points to be submitted before the court. As the two said there was nothing to add further to the arguments they had submitted, the Judge posted the case for judgement.

Pratibha Murthy, who was working for a call centre in Electronic City, was assaulted and murdered on December 13, 2005. The accused in the case is Shiva Kumar, the driver of a fleet of cars assigned by call centre to bring their staff members.

The trial of the case began on January 7, 2007 before the 7th Fast Track Sessions Judge K. Sukanya. She was succeeded by J.S. Despande and the two recording evidence of 71 witnesses. Judge Beraladinni, who came next, recorded the cross examination of the 71st witnesses. At the stage of recording the statement of accused Shiva Kumar on the statements made by the witnesses, the case was transferred to the newly created 11th Fast Track Court in December 2009.

The 11th Fast Track Court Judge Mr. Gudli heard the statement of Shiva Kumar and then the arguments of prosecutor and the defence counsel for nearly four months.
