Several schools under the umbrella of the Karnataka State Minority Unaided Schools' Management Association on Tuesday welcomed the stand of the Government that it would supply textbooks to all schools that had placed indent through the Karnataka Textbook Authority.
The schools' stand comes in the wake of the Government giving an oral undertaking before the Karnataka High Court that it would ensure that all schools that had placed orders would be supplied the books expeditiously.
Additional Advocate General K.M. Nataraj gave this undertaking when the court was hearing a petition by the association. The association said that the authority had returned money to those who had sent to it, saying that books would be supplied only to recognised schools.
Justice Mohan Shantangouder recorded the undertaking and disposed of the case.
