Nine days after the incident where two scooter-borne men misbehaved with a 21-year-old girl who was walking towards a gym in HRBR layout, the Banasawadi police arrested the accused on Friday.
The arrest was made after the police verified the CCTV footages from in and around the area and managed to identify the duo.
Nanda from DJ Halli and Amin alias Mubarak from KG Halli were arrested and the Honda active scooter used during the offence was also recovered. The accused have been booked under section 354 of IPC (outraging the modesty) and remanded to judicial custody.
"This is the third consecutive detection by East Division in the aftermath December 31 incident," Hemanth Nimbalkar, Additional Commissioner of Police ( East division ) said.
On January 4, two men on a bike pulled at a girl’s T-shirt. She managed to run away and raised an alarm. Passers-by came to help, but the accused managed to escape.
Meanwhile, the Subramanya police have detained BMTC bus driver Raju and conductor Chandrakanth for allegedly misbehaving with a girl while she was travelling in their bus on January 10.
The police have taken suo motu action after the victim posted her ordeal on her FB account.
We are inquiring with the driver and conductor and recording their statement, while efforts are on to track down the victim to get her statement, a senior police officer said.
