Priyanka Rao is this year's State topper in the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) conducted by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT). “My hard work paid off and I'm extremely happy to have aced the examination,” she said.
NTSE is a flagship activity of NCERT started in 1963 that aims at identifying academic talent. It provides financial assistance in the form of monthly scholarship for an entire academic year. Students studying in Class 8 are eligible to appear for the selection process. The aspirants will have to appear for two papers. The first tests the student's mental ability, while the second focuses on the general aptitude in mathematics and science.
“I had done well in both the papers but never thought that I will emerge topper. I attended coaching classes and the credit must go to my teachers because they extended all their support and encouragement,” said Priyanka.
Her teachers at Presidency appreciated and acknowledged her dedication, sincerity and hard work.
