621 motorists booked for drunken driving

As many as 621 motorists have been booked under the case of drunken driving by City Traffic Police during a special weekend drive on Saturday.

The five-hour drive was held at 85 junctions across the city from 9 p.m., where the police checked 7,764 vehicles.

According to the police, 469 were two-wheeler riders and 98 car drivers, out of 621 offenders booked under drunken driving cases.

The police have seized all the driving licenses and sent them to the concerned Transport Department with the recommendation to suspend them.
