Senior officials of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike have been getting phone calls from residents who have not yet been enumerated as part of the Social and Education survey.

In spite of the three extensions given to step up the coverage in the BBMP limits and residents being given an opportunity to contact the ward or tahsildar office to get enumerated, 59,812 households in the city are yet to be enumerated.

The last date for this is May 27 and the coverage in BBMP areas stands at 97.41 per cent.

An official said, “I have got calls from residents who said that they were not in town and said that they wanted to be enumerated, so we have sent our officials to their homes.”

H. Kantharaju, chairperson of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission, said that a meeting would be convened soon to decide the next course of action. So far applications of 67.85 per cent of the households enumerated in the State have been digitised.
