2,750 private unaided schools recognised by govt. in Bangalore

The Department of Public Instruction has put out a list of schools that have been verified as having all permissions. According to the list, there are 2,750 private schools in Bangalore which are recognised by the government.

These schools include those that are affiliated with the State government as well as ICSE and CBSE boards. The highest numbers of unaided private schools are in Bangalore south (1,704), followed by Bangalore north (928). The least number of unaided schools are in Bangalore Rural (118).

The DPI website has hosted the names of the schools. Commissioner for Public Instruction Mohammad Mohsin said if the schools do not figure on the list, they can be considered illegal. Citizens can call 080-22132588 if they find any school in the city violating norms or running classes without affiliation.
