27 posts lying vacant in Kempegowda Nagar police station

With their local police station remaining headless for over seven months, numerous residents of Kempegowda Nagar in Bengaluru South staged a protest on Sunday demanding the appointment of an inspector.

The residents shouted slogans against the lackadaisical attitude of the government in appointing the police officer and later submitted memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The residents complained that apart from inspector’s post, there are 26 other vacancies which has resulted in deteriorating law and order issue – especially with the high number of history-sheeters in the area.

Instances of chain snatching, house thefts, petrol theft from the parking vehicles and eve teasing have been on the rise, alleged the protestors.
