A 10-year-old girl died after she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while playing in her school in Dasarahalli on Tuesday.

Jayashree K.R., head of Preethi English Medium School, said Harishtha, a class IV student, collapsed around 11.30 a.m.

“She had stopped to take some rest after playing and she collapsed. We rushed her to a private hospital where she was declared brought dead,” she said. Harshitha was the daughter of Manjunath and Manjula, garment factory employees and residents of Kalahasthi Nagar, police sources said.

She was suffering from a congenital heart disease and was being treated at Jayadeva Hospital, the police said.

However, the Peenya police have registered a case of unnatural death and conducted an autopsy at Sapthagiri Private Hospital in Peenya.
