With as many as 10 per cent of its 100-member strong faculty actively involved in designing and delivering the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) has the largest number of faculty engaged, compared to any other institute in the world, claimed Sushil Vachani, Director, IIMB. Speaking on the sidelines of a press conference announcing the launch of MOOCs, he said the target would be to engage 15 per cent of faculty.

He is also readying a course on International Business Environment to be delivered this December.

In regional languages

A significant move that could aid the IIMB’s intention to widen the reach of its courses would be to introduce transcripts of the courses in Indian languages.

While IIMB Director Sushil Vachani promised that this would be a reality in about two months, he said the first set would be in Hindi.
