A ‘walk for values’ was taken out by students, teachers and staff of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Balavikas students, Balavikas gurus and devotees as part of the 90th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba on Sunday.

The objective of the event was to promote human and spiritual values among the people on the five fundamental principles of Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prema, and Ahimsa, as advocated by Sri Sathya Sai Baba throughout his life.

Addressing the gathering, State president of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations (AP and Telangana) S.G. Chalam called for upholding of the rich traditional Indian culture, human and spiritual values for the betterment of individuals and society at large. The responsibility of preserving a traditional India, based on ethical values, lay in the hands of the younger generation, he opined.

The teachers and students dressed in pure white, accompanied by Balvikas gurus and devotees, displayed placards with quotes like “money comes and goes; morality comes and grows”, “have constructive thoughts, consoling words, compassionate acts”, “love all-serve all” and “help ever- hurt never”.

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations (Vizag district) president V.R. Nageswara Rao, Sri Sathya Sai School principal A. Kausalya, and city Seva Samithi convener P.R.S.N. Naidu participated in the walk.
