An online database will be available for people to view on status of works, land use etc, says VUDA Vice-ChairmanT. Baburao Naidu

With geo-tagging of its properties and ongoing works and putting it in public domain VUDA intends to usher in total transparency in its functioning.

An agency has prepared the online database and geo-tagging and ongoing works, status of projects, layout approvals/details, status of change of land use etc can be viewed by anyone, says VUDA Vice-Chairman T. Baburao Naidu.

The database also comprises PPP and BOT projects.

The approval of the Municipal Administration Minister has been sought for opening up the database.

Similarly, a payment gateway to make any payment putting an end to vexatious claims and counter-claims, he said. It will also come into force after the minister’s approval.

The Vice-Chairman told reporters on Thursday that disclosure of the Master Plan was mandatory and people could view it as well as the zonal development plans and check for themselves whether land use was in tune with it and roads were being developed accordingly.

Transparency

Transparency would lead to people verifying anything related to VUDA and saving themselves from the clutches of frauds.

Quoting an instance, he said a man had put up a board stating a particular road would be made the Master Plan road and started collected money from local people promising that he would stop it. Field-level officials using android phones would upload photos of ongoing work and they can be cross-checked by officials.

File tracking

Mr. Baburao Naidu said to ensure prompt processing of files a file-tracking system would be introduced. At every step the work of officials concerned would be tracked finding whether the due process was followed in various wings. In the City Central Park a contractor was fined Rs.25,000 for delay in work. Secretary G. C. Kishore Kumar was present.
