VUDA has revived its plans to take up land pooling at Tri-junction near Lankelapalem in 1,500 acres that includes six to seven hills.

The proposal, approved by VUDA Board at its recent meeting in Vijayawada, will have to be approved by the Cabinet before a GO is issued.

Briefing media on major decisions of the board meeting, Vice-Chairman P. Basanth Kumar said to avoid the earlier complications pooling would be done by the Revenue Department and development by VUDA. The land-pooling is for a Satellite City.

On the controversial Mudapaka land-pooling issue, the meeting was of the view that though a GO was issued, it was in an initial stage but no wrong occurred. However, title verification should have been done, it felt.

Land identified

VUDA identified the land that had to given to it in lieu of the land parcels it gave to CMR group for the latter to part with its site on the beach road for Lu-Lu Group’s mall, convention centre and hotel.

The government would give revenue land equivalent in its value to VUDA.

Mr. Basanth Kumr said instead of the sub-registrar’s value of ₹ 98.83 crore, VUDA was requesting the government to give land in market value of ₹191.61 crore. The land identified is the one already being protected by VUDA.

The Vice-Chairman said the proposal to set up an IT city at Madhurawada would be taken forward by forming an SPV after the GO was issued. On Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP), VUDA had been asked to go ahead with meetings with stakeholders.

“One of the objections that had to be addressed is that NIO identifies the parameters of the plan and having it as an agency involves a conflict of interest,” Mr. Basanth Kumar said.

On the development of botanical garden, golf course, hotels and villas atop Yarada hill, the board decided to take up a survey by drone.
