VPT employees donate ₹26.9 lakh for Titli victims

The employees of Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) have donated ₹ 26.91 lakh towards the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of cyclonic storm Titli.

VPT Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu on Tuesday handed over a cheque for the amount to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The amount, pooled by the donation of one day’s salary of the port trust employees, was transferred to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Trustee of VPT D.K. Sarma, B.Masenu, VPT secretary C. Harichandran and VPT Officers Association secretary P.M. Raju were present on the occasion.

Chamber’s gesture

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) on Tuesday handed over a cheque for ₹ 26 lakh, Waltair Club ₹ 7 lakh and Alwardas Group of institutions ₹ 2 lakh to the Chief Minister for the Titli victims.

Government Whip P.G.V.R. Naidu, MLA V. Ramakrishnababu, MP M. Srinivasa Rao, APCCIF president G. Sambasiva Rao and Waltiar Club secretary S.P. Ravindra were present.
