A 35-year-old police home guard ended his life allegedly vexed with the harassment by his wife, in Yendada area under PM Palem police station limits.

Before resorting to the extreme step, the home guard recorded a video alleging harassment and sent it to his friends.

Though the incident occurred two days ago, it came to light after he died while undergoing treatment on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as G. Prakash Rao who was working as a driver at PM Palem police station.

‘Complaints ignored’

In the video, Prakash Rao said that he had differences with his wife since long. However, he had tried to adjust and move on.

He alleged that his wife had registered complaints against him for no reason and even dragged his parents into trouble.

“It was a mental torture. Last month, my in-laws even beat me up and I lodged a police complaint which was ignored,” Prakash Rao alleged in the video.

Prakash Rao also alleged that police had taken action against him, acting on the complaint lodged by his wife, while his complaints were ignored.

Ruling out the allegations, PM Palem Inspector Surya Narayana said that after Prakash Rao lodged a complaint, an FIR under Sections 324, 509 of IPC was registered and the case is under investigation.
