Utkal Divas celebrated in Visakhapatnam

Utkal Sanskrutika Samaj celebrated the 87th Utkal Divas- (Odisha Formation Day) on its premises at Dasapalla Hills, near All India Radio, here on Friday evening.

The celebrations started with an Odia food festival, which was inaugurated by Samaj president J.K. Nayak.

Anup Kumar Satpathy, DRM of Waltair Division of East Coast Railway, who participated as chief guest, spoke on the rich heritage and culture of Odisha.

Samaj general secretary Bimal Kumar Mahanta spoke.

Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Asit Kumar Mahapatra, Assistant Commissioner Manoranjan Behera and ADRM Manoj Kumar Sahoo attended.

A cultural troupe Utkal Dance and Research Academy, led by Sweta Padhi, regaled the audience with their classical and folk dance numbers.

R.P. Sahu and Arun Das conducted the proceedings.
