Tragedy struck the family members of two youths, who went for immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesh at R.K Beach, late on Sunday night.
S. Durga Prasad, 22, and M. Durga Prasad, 23, of Chengalraopta area, went for the immersion of the idol late on Sunday night. Though arrangements were made for immersion of idols at R.K. Beach, they preferred to immerse the idol some distance away as there were large crowds at the designated spot.
The bodies were found floating in the shallow waters on Monday and they were brought ashore by some local youths. Family members and relatives of the victims turned up in large numbers and wailed inconsolably.
Two Town police are investigating the case.
