‘Tribals denied Hudhud compensation’

The Government has not paid compensation for losses due to cyclone Hudhud to members of Kodhu tribe, a PVTG in Visakhapatnam Agency area, as they have not been given the RoFR pattas, the affected persons complained to visiting members of civil society organisations.

Further, they have not been given rights over community forest land and many persons eligible for old age pension have found their names deleted from the list after the recent re-verification drive by the Government, secretary of ARTD Pragada Vasu said.
