A tribal woman from Devarapalli village in G.K. Veedhi mandal in Visakha Agency staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Wednesday seeking the arrest of a former MPP of Koyyuru.

She alleged that he had deceived her after assuring to marry her.

The woman, Tuberi Nookaratnam (Kumari), alleged that the former MPP of a Left party had taken care of her with a promise of helping her to study degree course at Narsipatnam.

“After his wife died, the former MPP wanted me to marry him and exploited me. We lived together for more than four years.

When I insisted on marriage, he asked me to wait for some more time and sent me to Hyderabad where he found me a job,” she said.

The woman rushed back to Narsipatnam on coming to know that he was planning to marry another woman.

She lodged a complaint with the police at Narsipatnam and met the leaders of the Left party, including a former MLA, and district leaders but to no avail, she said.

She submitted a memorandum to the Collector who asked the SP to look into the matter.
