From the rich silks of Banaras and cotton handloom fabrics to homemade pickles and powders, a range of contemporary dresses and home furnishings, the two-day pop-up show at Goods of Desire (G.O.D) near harbour out-gate has something in store for everyone. The exhibition that began on Tuesday saw an overwhelming response on day one.

The century old Gothic structure’s owner Sonia Gupta, who renovated the heritage building last year, introduced this new concept of pop-up stores in the city which showcases the traditional weaves, crafts and traditions of the country under one platform.

In the two-day pop show, there is a collection of traditional motifs from Varanasi in rich silks in one corner while another corner houses a collection of dresses in contemporary cuts.

Leather footwear and bags with an ethnic touch is one of the highlights of the show. Bedsheets and table covers in a variety of fabrics and prints can be picked up at the exhibition.

In the first floor, Loom Bazaar greets you with its range of handspun cotton fabric dresses and saris that are matched well with Kalamkari blouses. Its ‘Happiness is Homemade’ brand of pickles and powders made by women from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh brings to the show a range of products from the kitchens of homemakers.

For those looking to give a different look to their interiors, Studio Tas has set up a collection of canvas printed photographs which are high on durability and give a unique texture to the images.

The exhibition will be open on Wednesday at G.O.D. from 10.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
