Tennis tourney gets under way

Collector N. Yuvaraj inaugurated the State School Games tennis tournament for boys and girls in the under-14 and under-17 age groups, at Andhra University Tennis Complex here on Thursday.

He explained various measures being taken to improve the sports infrastructure in the district.

More than 200 boys and girls from different districts of the State are participating in the tournament.

Registrar of Andhra University V. Umamaheswra Rao, District Educational Officer M.V. Krishna Reddy, DSDO N. Surya Rao, Director of Physical Education of AU M. Syambabu and others were present. The tournament would be held three days and the AP team for the all-India School Games Federation of India tennis tournament would be selected during the meet.
