Though the winter is yet to set in, the temperature has started to plummet in Visakhapatnam Agency. Several parts of the agency have been witnessing a thick fog in the morning since the past few days as the mercury levels have dropped below 10 degree Celsius.

According to sources, Chintapalle mandal has been witnessing below 10 degree C since a week. As per the Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS) at Chintapalli, the least temperature recorded in Chintapalli on Sunday was around 6 degree C.

Similarly temperatures at Araku, Ananthagiri, Paderu and few others have been hovering around 10 degree C. Locals say that the agency has been witnessing a thick fog till 9 a.m., making it difficult for travel.

With the temperature drop, tourists have started arriving in Borra caves, Chaparai, Araku valley, Lambasingi, waterfalls at Ananthagiri, Devarapalli, Katika and few others. Bookings at many hotels in Araku,Tyda, Ananthagiri for the coming weeks are almost full.
