Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu took a trip down memory lane as he cherished the golden moments from his student days at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College of Law, Andhra University here on Saturday evening.

He recalled the names of some of his professors and said: “I bow my head in reverence to my great teachers, who were responsible for what I am today,” as he chose to spend sometime with his classmates of the 1971-74 batch at Room No. 28 where they had all studied together.

“I never sat at one place. I used to visit all hostels and go round the campus. Luckily, I had some good friends, who used to sit through the classes and later help me by giving me their notes,” he said drawing smiles from his batchmates.

“A teacher imparts knowledge and classroom is a treasure,” he said and added that he was happy to know that “some of our batchmates have become IAS officers, senior judges and occupied important positions in society.”

He showed a copy of his book ‘Tireless Voice – Relentless Journey’ to his classmates and showed that copies of the book were available both in Telugu and English at the AU Library. The book is a compilation of his speeches in Parliament.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu planted a sapling and posed for a group picture with his batchmates on arrival at the college. His classmates felicitated him.
