Table tennis association takes out rally

A rally, organised by the Visakhapatnam District Table Tennis Association (VDTTA), was flagged off by Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju at RK Beach on Sunday morning.

In all, 250 students from various schools participated. Players from organisations like BSNL, DCI, VPT, India Post, Railways, NSTL, LIC, Navy, Steel Plant, and NTPC also participated.

MLC and VDTTA president M.V.S. Sarma advocated introduction of table tennis in all schools, and appealed to students to participate in the forthcoming AP State Ranking Tournament, which was scheduled to be held at the Port Indoor Stadium from October 21 to 23.

Olympic Association president T.S.R. Prasad, LIC Senior Divisional Manager K. Muralidhar, GM of Orissa Stevedores J.K. Nayak, Olympian M.V. Manikyalu, director of Premier India Agencies Sapna Somani, Coast Guard Commander Abbas, Olympic Association secretary Syam Babu, correspondent of Little Angels School Venu Mohan, Niraj Sampathy of Siva Sivani School, and VDTTA secretary D.V.S.Y. Sharma were among those who participated.
