October 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:53 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Media Advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh Parakala Prabhakar called upon the media to play an active role in rebuilding the State.

Participating as chief guest in a seminar on ‘Vandella Journalism Pragati’, organised by Mosaic Literary Organisation and Uttarandhra Journalists Front (UJF) at VJF Press Club here on Sunday, Mr. Prabhakar said that the State was bifurcated under unfortunate circumstances. The new State neither has a capital nor the infrastructure and the media should strive to involve the people in the efforts being made by the State government to build a new state.

Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Andhra University P. Bobby Vardhan spoke about the changes in the field of journalism during the last 100 years since the founding of ‘Andhra Patrika’ in 1914.

Noted orator Oleti Parvateesam spoke.

Praja Spandana president C.S. Rao and Prof. Chandu Subba Rao were present.
