Summer camps conclude

It was an education-cum-entertainment event for those who took part in a three-day summer camp organised by Vizag Children’s Club at Araku and a two-day camp at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) that concluded recently.

Breaking away from the monotony that revolved around school, homework and meeting daily assignments, the camp packed several interesting elements such as outdoor games, ‘dhimsa’ dance, lectures, quiz contest, personality development classes and many more for children.

Participants had a chance to interact with tribal people and understand their problems. Trainers educated children on Right to Education and Child Rights and advocated steps to be taken to eliminate child labour as part of the camp held at Araku.

The camp at VSP included science and music classes and sessions on personality development. As part of its next move, the club plans to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5 involving an army of children.
