The six-day event has 85 stalls offering various delicacies

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner M Hari Narayanan inaugurated street food festival — ‘Shehari Samridhi Utsav’, — at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, on Sunday. The six-day festival organised by GVMC and Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal areas (MEPMA) has 85 stalls of various food delicacies.

Inaugurating the festival, Mr. Hari Narayanan said that MEPMA, Self-Help Groups (SHG), women street vendors, have come up with stalls with delicacies for the event. Appealing to people to encourage the festival, Mr. Hari Narayanan said that the event will continue till February 15. Biryani, Dosa Mela from Eat Street, Madugula halwa, Bamboo chicken known as Bongulo Chicken, ‘Athreyapuram Pootharekulu,’ and many other food stalls are being well received from the visitors. Project Director (UCD) D Srinivasan, Zonal Commissioner-II P Nallanayya, and a few others were present.
