St. Peter’s High School wins football

St. Peter’s High School won the football event and Avaneesh won the first category (up to III class) title in chess in the Visakha Utsav sports meet here on Friday.

St. Peter’s HS downed Mrs. A.V.N. College High School 4-3 in tie-breaker after full time ended goalless at the GVMC stadium. Oakridge International School finished third.

In the chess tournament being held at the Key Stone English Medium School, Narasimhanagar, Avaneesh won the first category event while M. Varshini was runner-up and Vineel third.

In other categories K. Pranav and Y. Sai Nikhil with three points after three rounds were leading the second category (IV to VI classes), followed by S. Vamsi and R.S. Karthikeya with 2.5 points each. V. Thosali, Surya Dhanush, Cheela naga Sampath, E.S. Akshil and Sai Suraj with three points each were in joint lead in the third category (VII to X classes) event.
