Alleging injustice to the victims of VR Chits 11 years after it shut shop, CPI(M) leaders and victims’ association have demanded arrest of the accused and a special court to try them.

CPI(M) State secretariat member Ch. Narsinga Rao said under the criminal case filed against the management, the accused could be imprisoned for three years for breach of agreement and for seven years for cheating.

However, only some properties were disposed in 2012, 2013 and 2015 and though ₹27 crore was realised even that was not being paid properly to the victims, he said.

Though VR Chits had properties worth ₹200 crore, only ₹27 crore was proposed to be paid to the victims by obtaining signatures on affidavits towards full and final settlement from them, he said at a press conference here demanding a judicial inquiry. Alleging collusion to deny their due to the depositors, Mr. Narsinga Rao said if no payments were paid immediately, they would be compelled to commit mass suicide.

CPI(M) city secretary B. Ganga Rao, ex-corporator B. Eswaramma and victims’ association secretary Botta Chella Rao were present.
