SP hands over safety kits to traffic police

P. Umapathy, SP, urban police district, Rajahmundry, handed over traffic safety kits including safety cones, reflector jackets, cane chains, hand gloves and rain coats, to the traffic police staff at a function held at traffic police station on Saturday.

He said the newly formed urban police district would have full-fledged staff by January 2012.

He said 16 trainee SIs were allotted for five-month training to the police district and nine more would be allotted soon. The constables allotted to the urban district were undergoing training at Vizayanagaram and they would complete training by the end of the year.

The SP said 90 home guards allotted to Rajahmundry would also join duty soon and the recruitment of ministerial staff required for the district would also be completed soon.

On construction of new buildings to the urban district, he said that 43 acres of land was available at Bommuru and proposals for construction of SP office on 20 acres at a cost of Rs 16 crores were submitted to the government.

He said proposals were submitted to the government to appoint special protection force to the Madhurapudi air port. K Anil Kumar, Traffic DSP K Koteswara Rao and AR DSP A.Lakshminarayan attended.
