Simhachalam land case to be heard by RDO

Representation to be taken from villagers

With the High Court issuing interim orders to arrange for a hearing in the RDO Court on Simhachalam Inam land issue, representations should be taken from people from five villages, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.

He said though the government was committed to resolving the issue and announced it after the first Cabinet meeting in Visakhapatnam, it could not do so owing to legal tangle.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao told the officials to begin works on the Anakapalle-Anandapuram highway by completing the land acquisition and payment of compensation to farmers. However, he wondered how the design was finalised without making provision for link roads and bridges in villages.

A bridge should be proposed at Maharajupeta T-Junction on Revidi-Padmanabham Road as it was at the centre of 21 villages, he suggested. He expressed his displeasure at land being allotted to TIDCO and APIIC without giving priority to housing in Bhimunipatnam constituency.
