Seminar stresses safe use of power in pharma units

The Electric Inspectorate Department has conducted a technical seminar on ‘Safe use of electricity in pharma and bulk drug industry’ to avoid fatal accidents and to minimise the failure of various equipment.

The focus of the programme held here on Thursday was on avoiding failures of transformers, generators, motors, and other equipment in the industry and minimise the loss of energy in the industry. Speakers underlined the need for creating awareness on electricity usage by proper earthing system, cabling, utilisation and maintenance of transformers, motors and generators. Chief Electrical Inspector J. Padma Janardhan Reddy narrated the role of earthing in safe use of electricity.

Senior consultants P.V. Vidyadhara Rao and J. Venkatswamy spoke on role of electro static discharge in pharma industry and protection of transformers and generators.
