In an attempt to highlight the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, the HPCL and Skill Development Centre jointly organised a painting competition in 100 schools, as part of the ‘Swachh Pakhwada’ programme, here on Monday.

Centred on the themes such as waste segregation at source, environment conservation and related topics, around 70,000 students from LKG to Class X in 100 schools took part in the painting contest in their respective schools, including Pollocks, V.T. High School, Visakha Valley and a host of government and municipal schools.

Supported by Sathgeeth Creations, the painting competition was also aimed at gaining an entry into the Limca Book of Records, the organisers said.
