A two-year-old-girl died after she was knocked down by a private school bus at Peddacheenarla of Nakkapalli mandal in the district on Tuesday.

M Mahima, the victim, was daughter of M. Joga Raju, fisherman. Relatives and parents of the girl alleged that negligent driving claimed the life of Mahima.

Tension prevailed for sometime as the locals intercepted the bus and tried to attack the school bus driver. The school bus was going towards Addu Road via Peddacheenarla, when the driver reportedly lost control and hit the girl, who was playing beside the road. The police have registered a case.
