Sankar Foundation Eye Institute opens new branch

Sankar Foundation Eye Institute opened its new branch in Pithapuram Colony of Maddilapalem here on Thursday.

Inaugurating the facility, VMRDA Chairman Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao lauded the services of the foundation and said that a lot of improvements were happening in healthcare sector under the leadership of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The new facility is equipped with two sophisticated operation theatres supported by diagnostic equipment to treat general ophthalmology, cataract, retina, glaucoma, cornea and other eye problems.

CSR activity

INOX Leisure Private Limited Regional Director (South) Mohith Bhargav appreciated the community eye care services being undertaken by the foundation and assured support under the CSR activities.

“The foundation is continuously making efforts to check avoidable blindness not only in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, but also in the bordering districts of Odisha,” said foundation managing trustee and CEO K.B.N. Manimala.

She thanked INOX Leisure Private Limited P.K. Jain for supporting the foundation for the past 3 years. “The INOX has donated ₹2.46 crore as part of its CSR activity for elimination of avoidable blindness. The new campus at Maddilapalem has been named Sankar Foundation Eye Institute, INOX campus,” Ms. Manimala said.
