Roads to all Agency villages by next year: Chief Secretary

₹ 1 crore will be allocated to each district for building mini stadia, he says

Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar on Thursday said roads should be laid to all villages in the Agency by next year under NREGS.

At a review meeting with officials here, the Chief Secretary said Panchayat Raj and Roads and Buildings Departments should also take up road works.

He said ₹ 1 crore would be allotted to each district under NREGS and SAP for construction of mini stadiums. In Visakhapatnam district at least four stadiums should be constructed, he said.

Construction of anganwadi buildings, cremation grounds and sports grounds should be completed by the year-end. Mr. Dinesh Kumar said vermi-compost yards should be set up in all villages to meet the target of 15000 yards.

He also reviewed progress of housing, plantation and horticulture under NREGS, tourism and Panchayat Raj.

District Collector Pravin Kumar, VUDA Vice-Chairman P. Basant Kumar, Municipal Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan and ITDA Project Officer Ravi Pattanshetti participated.
