Revenue officer lodges complaint against subordinate

A revenue officer lodged a complaint with the police that her subordinate had misbehaved with her.

District Treasury Officer M. Geeta Devi said that Sub-Treasury Officer P. Chander Rao, who was also president of the AP Treasury Services Association, had sought a better posting for his follower. He had been pestering her over this for the last few weeks. On Thursday, he went to her chamber and held her hand reportedly in a bid to intimidate her. The victim lodged a complaint with the Two Town police.

Inspector T. Mohan Rao said that enquiries with other women staff revealed that the accused was behaving indecently with other women also.

Man killed

A man was killed in a clash with his rivals at Daraveedhi under Gangavaram police station limits late on Wednesday night.

K. Mahesh (34), a petty electrical works contractor at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and his friend Sattibabu were walking on the road when they were confronted by his rival group Ch. Raju and some others, who were allegedly in an inebriated condition.

A heated argument ensued following which Mahesh and Sattibabu were beaten with sticks.

Mahesh died on the spot while Sattibabu was admitted to the King George Hospital, where his condition was said to be serious.

Four held

Four persons, who were allegedly involved in various crimes, were arrested by the Gajuwaka police on Thursday and Rs.20,000 and an auto-rickshaw were recovered from them.

Santhosh, Harish, Yadagiri, and Nooka Reddy, all residents of Malkapuram area, attacked a person and stolen his money and mobile phone. They were also allegedly involved in other crimes like attacks on auto-rickshaw passengers and people walking on isolated roads and stealing their property.

The gang was caught near Malkapuram and produced before the court.
