Taking advantage of the sub-station maintenance by the EPDCL, the GVMC on Monday cleaned two reservoirs – each of 10 lakh gallons capacity – at the Town Service Reservoir (TSR) Complex.

In all, 100 workers were employed to go into the ground-level reservoirs and take out the accumulated sand and mud. The clean-up continued till evening.

Slabs on free board that came off due to chorine corrosion were also taken out.

Municipal Commissioner Pravin Kumar visited the TSR Complex in the evening.

“Nearly 200 reservoirs of GVMC are being cleaned and as part of that the two at TSR Complex were taken up,” said Superintendent Engineer (Water Supply) T. Moses Kumar. In another 10 days maintenance of all tanks would be completed. “The maintenance will help supply clear water without any particles particularly in the rainy season,” said Mr. Kumar.
