Vote for Babu for jobs’ was one of the main planks on which Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu won the elections, but one year later he removed 1.5 lakh people from their jobs, APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy said here on Tuesday.

Participating in a convention of unemployed youth organised by the City Congress Committee and DCC as part of APCC’s programmes in every district on a major issue, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy quoted from the pages of TD election manifesto assuring jobs for all, unemployment relief, continuous recruitment, etc. and criticised Mr. Naidu for not keeping the promises but removing mid-day meal workers, FP shop dealers, Adarsha Rytus, contract employees, animators, etc.

The APCC chief said his party for the last one year was conducting many agitations demanding and reminding the TD to fulfil the 600 assurances it made during the elections. “In the case of special status, the TDP and the BJP have compromised but we continue to exert pressure,” he said.
