PolyCET counselling begins

Andhra Pradesh Government has conducted all the Common Entrance Tests as scheduled and conducting the counselling of every CET ahead of schedule to avoid merit students from leaving for institutions outside the State, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said while launching the counselling process of Polytechnic CET 2015 at Andhra University’s Online Centre on Monday.

He handed over admission letters to some candidates who attended the counselling on the first day. In the PolyCET 2015 held on May 29 a total of 1,14,463 candidates attended and 81,037 of them qualified. They will vie for the 22,895 seats available in the 324 polytechnics in the State, including 81 Government Polytechnics.

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju, Rector E.A. Narayana, V. Umamaheswara Rao, MLAs Palla Srinivas and V. Anitha, Director of the Online Centre V. Vallikumari, Deans T. Koteswara Rao and P. Hari Prakash were present.

Till 5 p.m. on the first day, 330 candidates got their certificates verified.
