Plea to RINL

May 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:00 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Visakha Steel Employees’ Congress, the recognised union of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has asked the management of RINL to relax qualification norms prescribed for recruitment of operator-cum-technicians.

Threatening to launch an agitation if the notification with minimum qualification of diploma in engineering was not scrapped, VSEC general secretary Mantri Rajasekhar said since inception, RINL had been appointing ITI-qualified candidates, mostly displaced persons and those belonging to rural areas, as operator-cum-technician in S-3 grade.

RINL recently issued the notification for recruitment of 350 operator-cum-technicians.
