Agricultural College of Naira, affiliated to Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University, has established a placement cell to guide the students to get jobs after completion of the courses. The college management said many students could get jobs in various public and private sector organisations much before the completion of their degrees, thanks to on-line and off-line interviews being conducted regularly.
According to Associate Dean M.Venku Naidu, students have been selected by various companies such as Coromandal Fertilizers, Indian Farmers Fertilizers Cooperative Limited, Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Agrochemicals Limited, Dharuka Agrochemicals, Matrix Agricultural Limited and many public and private banks.
“We are organising Spoken English, Communication Skills, Personality Development, Group Discussions and Guest Lecturers on contemporary topics by experts for the benefit of students so that they perform better in interviews,” said Mr.Venku Naidu.
The Naira college which celebrated its 22nd college day on Monday was keen on creating awareness among local farmers in adopting low input and high output technologies.
District Collector N.Srikanth, Dean of Post Graduate Studies of ANGRAU VB Bhanumurthy and other officials felt that more research and usage of advanced technology would make agriculture profitable. It would also enable the country to meet its growing food needs.
