Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan has demanded that those who issued the G.O. changing the name of ‘Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Pratibha Puraskar Award’ to ‘YSR Vidya Puraskar’ be suspended, if Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was unaware of the development.

Addressing the party men here on Tuesday, Mr. Kalyan said several schemes had been named after former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, though they could have been named after great leaders such as Prakasam Pantulu and others.

Shifting of High Court

He asked the party workers to rebut charges of ‘B-team’ against the Jana Sena . “I consider the long March as a success as a large number of people turned up in response to the call given by a defeated man on an important issue,” Mr. Kalyan said.

Referring to the demand on shifting of High Court, the Jana Sena Chief ridiculed the Chief Minister. “When the lawyers had asked him to favour the location of High Court in Kurnool, I told them to represent it to the Chief Minister as it would be easy for him to attend court from Pulivendula. However, Municipal Administration Minister Botchha Satyanaryana might prefer Cheepurupalli,” Mr. Kalyan said.

Local body polls

Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar said that rumours were floated and attempts made to fail the ‘long march’.

“Women workers stood their ground firm when some officials tried to change the dais and ‘janasainiks’ from Bhimavaram provided refreshments to thousands of people,” Mr. Manhoar said. He called upon the cadres to fight the personal comments against the party. “All should come together to ensure victory of the party in local body elections,” he said.

Party senior leader Satya Bolisetti was also present on the occasion.
