PCB authorises 3 agencies to dismantle e-waste

Bulk consumers told to abide by the norms

Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Visakhapatnam, has authorised three agencies for collection and dismantling of e-waste in the district.

“The chosen agencies are M/s. Green Waves Environmental Solutions, M/. Veera Waste Management System and M/s. Ramky ARM Recycling Private Limited,” T. Rajendra Reddy, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, APPCB, said here on Monday.

Speaking at an awareness programme organised for the bulk consumers, dismantlers and other stakeholders organised by the APPCB here, marking the International E-waste Day, Mr. Rajendra Reddy advised the bulk consumers to dispose of e-waste at the dismantlers and recyclers that have been authorised by the APPCB.

“The bulk consumers need to organise awareness programmes at their respective organisations,” he said.

The dismantlers deliberated on the salient features of e-waste management rules and the amendments that have been made.

Representatives of the major bulk consumers such as L.G polymers, Essar Steels, Vizag Steel, BARC, Gitam University, Divis, HPCL, Gangavaram Port, VMRDA, Road Transport Authority, Rain CII, Laurus Labs and NTPC took part in the programme.

Environmental engineer P. Prasad Rao and others were also present on the occasion.
