Overflowing drain an eyesore here

The vicinity of the railway station and the bus station give the first impression of a city. As it is, the two entries — the main entrance and the Jnanapuram side — of the railway station have a vast difference in their appearance.

Of late, the condition on the Jnanapuram side has turned worse.

A new wall has been constructed by widening the road. But the old open drainage has remained unchanged. Sewage from the open drain is flowing into the open space created by the construction of the wall.

Along the drain, debris is also dumped, which makes things worse.

While motoring on the road is a problem in itself, the predicament of pedestrians and other road-users when a bus passes by is unenviable.
