One person held, 32 kg dry ganja seized

A team from the Gajuwaka Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Easwar Rao, arrested Kancharla Sridhar and seized 32 kg of dry ganja on Monday.

Gajuwaka Circle Inspector M. Appa Rao said that the accused was given two bags containing the contraband allegedly by a woman called ‘Sarisa aunty’ at Lankelapalem and asked to transport it to Visakhapatnam railway station, where he would be met by another person.

Basing on information, the team arrested Sridhar as he alighted from a bus at Srinagar bus station in Gajuwaka.

Kingpin at large

A special team has been formed by ACP (South) G. B. R. Madhusudana Rao and Inspector Apparao to nab ‘Sarisa aunty’.

The accused will be sent to remand on Wednesday.
