On a mission to clean up city

The area where the passengers alight and board buses at the RTC Complex was cleaned up by ambassadors of Swacch Bharat, APSRTC officials and staff during a two-hour programme of Swachh Bharat held on Saturday.

MP of Visakhapatnam K. Haribabu was chief guest and brand ambassadors Gopikrishna, Jeeja, Uday, P.L.K. Murthy and V.V. Ramana Murthy along with brand ambassadors’ convenors Balamohana Das, Shirin Rehaman and Murali Gannamani and RTC officers A. Appala Raju and Sudha Bindu and staff spent two hours to spruce up the area.

Brand ambassadors of Swachh Bharat have been conducting Swacch Bharat programme on every second Saturday at a chosen place in the city.

On Saturday they came forward to raise a garden on the area cleaned and to construct toilets for women at the RTC complex. Another brand ambassador came up with a project to beautify the road from Siripuram petrol bunk to Park hotel.

Swachh Bharat programme would be held next month at the MVP colony Rytu Bazaar, Prof. Balamohan Das said.
