Poorna Malavath, the youngest girl in the world to conquer the Mount Everest, is now gearing up for her fourth expedition. This time, the 17-year-old from Nizamabad has set on eyes on the Mount Vinson in Antarctica.

Poorna scaled the Mount Everest in 2013 when she was 13 years and 11 months old. She has also scaled Kilimanjaro and Mount Elbrus. Poorna and her coach Sekhar Babu are now preparing for their fourth expedition, to Antarctica.

“My goal is to conquer all the seven summits. Most likely, we will start our expedition to Mount Vinosa by December-end or January next year,” Poorna told the The Hindu .

Poorna and her coach Sekhar Babu were present during the screening of movie ‘Poorna – Courage has no limit’, at VUDA Children’s Arena on Saturday.

Revealing about her preparation, she said, “I am training for three hours daily which includes jogging, workouts and etc. I am sure, I can make it.” Poorna, now a degree second year student at Kamareddy Residential College at Nizamabad, said mountaineering had never come in way of her academics and she was doing good in studies. “I want to be an IPS officer. Mountaineering has never disturbed her academics. I am attending classes and prepare for exams and performing good too. Education and mountaineering are my priorities,” she said.
