Now city to house helicopter museum

Tourism officials told to identify land

Collector Pravin Kumar directed the officials of the Tourism Department to identify land for establishment of a helicopter museum on the lines of the TU 142 Aircraft Museum in the city.

At a review meeting with officials of the Tourism Department, VUDA and Revenue officials here on Wednesday, the Collector called upon the officials to strive for early completion of the ongoing tourism projects, which were intended to promote Visakhapatnam as a tourist hub. He called for a detailed report on the problems in land acquisition regarding the Buddhist circuit and Araku Eco Tourism projects.

He directed them to complete the works on the construction of four luxury tourist cottages at Lammasingi by the end of March.

He directed them to initiate measures for developing a ‘safe swimming zone’ at Rushikonda Beach as it was already identified for development under the BEAMS scheme of the Government of India.
