January 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Since people started returning from Hyderabad, where swine flu cases and deaths were reported, an alert was on to prevent swine flu from spreading here too, Collector N. Yuvaraj said on Tuesday. However, he said there was no need for panic but people should get tested by a qualified doctor if swine flu symptoms were observed. Adequate quantity of swine flu medicine was stocked in the district to meet any eventuality, he said. Four cases of swine flu were reported during 2014 and two of them died. The number of cases reported in the district during the previous years (with number of deaths in brackets) is: 2013- three (0); 2012-eight (2), 2011-nil; 2010-16 (4) and 2009-29 (5).
